Italian editor Lucia Zucchetti, ACE began working on documentaries in 1994 and has since edited many narrative films. She has thirty-six credits in total. She worked with Stephen Frears on The Queen, Mrs. Henderson Presents, and Chéri. Zucchetti received BAFTA, Eddie, and European Film Awards nominations for The Queen. She also edited two films for Lynne Ramsay (Morvern Callar and Ratcatcher) and edited Tina Gharavi’s I Am Nasrine and Wash Westmoreland’s Colette. For her editing on Jay Roach’s Game Change, Zucchetti was nominated for an Emmy and an Eddie, and she won a BAFTA for John Crowley’s Boy A.

“There is a pride that goes with being in a male-dominated industry. I also love the fact that the group of people that I started off with is mostly female. I am sure that it was something to do with our gender that made us connect on some of the topics we wanted to talk about in our film. I have to say, however, that editing is possibly the one specialization in film where women have been given more access and that I believe is because an editor contributes a lot but does all the work locked in a dark room, behind the scenes—the contribution is not apparent.”
