Çiçek Kahraman

Çiçek Kahraman is based in Berlin and Istanbul. She began editing in 2006 and has edited more than two dozen feature films. Kahraman has worked with such directors as Tayfun Pirselimoglu (Riza), Seyfi Teoman (Summer Book, Our Grand Despair), Ümit Ünal (Ara, The Shadowless, The Voice and The Pomegranate), Mahmut Fazil Cosk (Uzak Ihtimal, Yozgat Blues and The Announcement), and Emin Alper (A Tale of Three Sisters). She also recently edited eight episodes of The Protector, a TV series created by Binnur Karaevli.
Kahraman’s editing work has received several festival awards, including from the Adana Film Festival (for Ara and The Voice), the Ankara International Film Festival (Durul Taylan & Yagmur Taylan’s Küçük Kiyamet), and the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival (Zeynep Dadak & Merve Kayan‘s The Blue Wave). She also received a nomination for best editing from the Turkish Film Critics Association for The Announcement. In addition to her work as an editor, Kahraman teaches film classes at universities, and gives master classes on film editing at international festivals, most recently for Berlinale Talents at the Sarajevo Film Festival in both 2017 and 2018. Kahraman also does video art, which has been exhibited both in Turkey and abroad.
